The device is designed for forklifts with electric drives controlled by a PWM regulator. It indicates:
• Battery discharge level (state of charge);
• Operating hours;
• Parking brake engagement;
• Hydraulic filter clogging/contamination;
• Turn signals /left or right/;
• Brake fluid level;
• When properly connected to the pump motor controller, it cuts off the power supply at a specific battery discharge threshold.
Functional description
When the power is turned on, the device performs a “SELF TEST” the LEDs of the ten-segment LED indicator light up sequentially from left to right for 0.7 seconds each. After that, it switches to measurement mode. If the battery voltage is higher than Umin=69.2V, the number of lit LEDs on the indicator is proportional to the measured voltage. When the voltage drops below Umin, the device switches to “OFF” mode: the first two red LEDs of the LED indication begin to pulse, the status “LOW BATTERY” is stored in the device's memory and after 3 min. the circuit of the lifting pump unit is switched off in order to protect the battery. When the voltage in the installation increases above Ureset=83.6V, the device automatically exits “OFF” mode and switches to “NORMAL BATTERY” mode (normal battery charge), without the need to switch the power off. With every new power on, the device performs:
- “SELF TEST”
- checks if the previous state was “LOW BATTERY” and measures the voltage:
- if the voltage is U>Ureset, the device remembers the state “NORMAL BATTERY”, switches to indication mode and switches on the circuit of the lifting pump unit.
- if the voltage is U<=Ureset the LED indication enters the pulse mode of the first two red LEDs again and the circuit of the lifting pump unit is switched off.
Connector terminals description
1 – “BATT+“ – connects to the “+” of the battery via a terminal;
2 – “S” - measurement terminal, which connects directly to the “+” of the battery;
3 – “NC1” - terminal 1 of the normally closed contact (NC) of the built-in relay. Connects directly to the “+” of the battery;
4 – “NC2” - terminal 2 of the normally closed contact (NC) of the built-in relay. Connects to the lifting pump unit;
5 – “BATT-“ – connects directly to the “-” of the battery;
6 – “RIGHT BLINKERS” – +12V is supplied to the terminal when the right turn signal is on;
7 – “BRAKES” – +12V is supplied to the terminal when the handbrake is engaged;
8 - “FILTER” - +12V is supplied to the terminal when the hydraulic filter is contaminated;
9 – “LEFT BLINKERS” – +12V is supplied to the terminal when the left turn signal is on;
10 – “BRAKE FLUID LEVEL” – +12V is supplied to the terminal when the brake fluid drops below a certain level;
