Turnstile access Controller is a control module for OEM and aftermarket integration in turnstiles for access control applications. It is part of custom designed ETHERNET network with connection to the ticket server.
The turnstile controller module is access control device, which is integrated into all types of turnstiles. The device can open the turnstile gate. It supports two USB type barcode scanners, one RS232 barcode scanner and RFID card reader. The device is custom designed to connect to the ticket server, using local ETHERNET network connection. It supports 10/100BT ETHERNET speed and DHCP client protocol for network addressing. External keyboard can be connected and used for hand-input of non readable tickets. RGB LED array provides light feedback and indication of events. External buzzer is supported with different melodies, programmed for each event. Integrated Real-time clock and calendar stores the timestamp for event logging, using LOG files in SD card. Additional configuration server support allows remote control of all settings, firmware update and direct commands. The available 64mbit memory allows for storing local ticket list, which provides granted access without ticket server confirmation. This feature increases the reliability of the entire system and during network problems, the device remains fully functional in autonomous mode. 2.8" TFT LCD display is supported for image output, including the event title, scanned information and access granted/denied messages. The device firmware is based on FreeRTOS real time operating systems, with tightly coupled USB HOST and ETHERNET drivers, integrated TCP/IP stack and firmware modules. The LCD display drivers are custom designed and integrated to the used graphics library, allowing animations and user input, using resistive touch panel.

Configuration Server
The configuration server allows remote control of the devices, remote configuration of all configurable parameters and firmware update over the air. The firmware update allows updating all integrated non-volatile memories, including the real time clock and calendar backup SRAM memory. The firmware update procedure is completely encrypted and allows controlled update of specific device with specific firmware version. The update firmware files are downloaded to the SD card interface and then used during the update procedure. The configuration server is used to update pictures of the LCD display, which to be output on access events. The server integrates database for storage of the users and groups hierarchical structure at several levels. All turnstiles in specific object, group or company level can be manipulated at the same time.
